Residential

AccessPoint RI’s Residential program provides supportive living environments for individuals of differing abilities. These services promote community integration, independence and growth.

The program consists of a network of residential group homes, and semi-independent living arrangements. Depending on individual need, service hours range from four hours a week to twenty-four hours per day/seven days per week. Individuals receive assistance with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, banking, recreational activities and transportation, as well as clinical and medical support. Individuals are encouraged to make choices that truly reflect their wants, needs and desires, while continuing to strive toward achieving goals and gaining independence.

Residential services are funded through the Rhode Island Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and offered to individuals with developmental disabilities who are 21 and older. Individuals must meet DDD's eligibility requirements, and be deemed eligible for residential services by the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).

Individualized planning is the basis of all support provided by AccessPoint. Each individual meets with his or her support team, family, friends and advocates to develop a plan for the upcoming year. Short and long-term goals are discussed. Each person’s goals are reviewed on an ongoing basis and modified to address the ever-changing wants and needs of the individual.

Semi-Independent Living
Semi-Independent Living offers support to those individuals who do not require 24-hour services.  In this program, support is provided to address the unique needs and wants of the individual.  Individuals may live in their own home or apartment, individually or with housemates of their choosing. Individuals receive assistance with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, banking, recreational activities, and transportation, as well as clinical and medical support. Individuals are assisted according to their wishes, with becoming active in their communities.

Group Living
Group Living offers support to those individuals who require 24-hour support seven days per week.  Services in this program are designed to meet the unique needs and wants of the individual supported through the sharing of support hours. Group living arrangements range from three to five person homes. The sharing of support enables individuals to obtain the maximum amount of support while addressing individualized needs, wants and future goals. Individuals receive assistance with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, banking, recreational activities, and transportation, as well as clinical and medical support. Individuals are assisted according to their wishes, with becoming active in their communities.
