Coronavirus (COVID-19)

A Message from our President & CEO

4/20/20 -  Throughout Rhode Island and at AccessPoint, we continue to face the grievous threat imposed by COVID-19. We are heartbroken by its impact on our AccessPoint community. We continue to do everything we can to protect the individuals we support and our staff, who bravely come to work every day to care for people and ensure they have what they need.

I know this is an extremely difficult time for families of those we support, and for everyone in our AccessPoint community. You are all in my thoughts continuously.

The safety of everyone at AccessPoint is our tireless focus.  We are working around the clock for our community, doing our utmost to protect each person’s health and wellbeing.

As we have from the outset, we monitor and implement the ongoing guidance of the RI Department of Health, CDC and our other regulatory agencies. In our residential services, these protections include people sheltering in place, stringent sanitizing of surfaces, restricted visits to homes and social distancing. We monitor closely all the individuals we serve as well as our staff.

We contact and follow the directives of the RI Department of Health in managing any instances of the virus. Individuals who may have had exposure are tested and their families are immediately informed.  Any individuals who require isolation are living in separated accommodations. Involved staff members have been instructed to be tested. We are doing everything we can to keep people as safe possible while providing for their comfort and care.

We will continue to communicate directly to individuals supported, their families and our staff. Do not hesitate to contact your service coordinator if you have questions or concerns.

With deepest regards,

Thomas P. Kane
President & CEO
